Blackberry Lily, sometimes called Leopard Lily (Iris domestica) is a charming perennial plant that thrives in full sun, reaching a height of 30-36 inches with a width of 18-24 inches. One of the stand out features of this lily are its seed pods, which form into clusters of small black balls that are reminiscent of blackberries. Try planting Blackberry Lily in borders, containers or mixed perennial beds.
In my experience, Blackberry Lilies will reseed throughout the garden (I’m in Zone 7A), but not aggressively. I’ve noticed that the new plants don’t come true to seed. They are typically a solid yellow lily (but still very beautiful).
