Bloomin’ Bin Plant Subscription Box
Bloomin’ Bin is a great plant subscription box for all skill levels. This subscription box offers several options, with the basic “Just seeds” tier starting below $10.
- Just the seeds of the month– With this subscription level, you get 3-5 types of seeds each month. The seed selection is a mix of fruits/vegetables and flower seeds.
- Just Seeds Premium with Binder– With this subscription level you get a custom binder in the first month to hold your seed instructions and all seed instructions come laminated! You also have the option of flower, fruit/vegetable or both types of seeds.
- Basic Bloomin’ Bin– With this subscription level you get monthly seeds (sometimes live plants), detailed instructions, a soil/plant food sample, a pot/grow bag/starter container and a simple garden item or small tool.
- Premium Bloomin’ Bin– With this subscription level you get an upgraded bloomin’ bin box, containing all items from the Basic Bin plus an extra gardening tool or project.
I purchased a 6-month subscription of the “Just Seeds Premium with Binder” level as a gift for my mom. She really enjoyed this subscription box and had success planting all of the seeds. A lot of the varieties were new to her (and to me!). She really looked forward to this box each month, learning more about the flowers and vegetables that she received. All of the seeds were delivered at times of the year appropriate for planting and the seeds appeared to be high quality.
Here are some of the photos she sent me.
I’ve stopped the box for the winter months but I plan to re-subscribe in the spring. Everything that was sent to her had clear instructions and she was able to grow it all. It was a very positive experience and I would recommend purchasing any of their subscription levels if you’re looking for a high-quality, fun garden subscription box at a very reasonable price.

My Garden Box
Creative and crafty garden collections. The My Garden Box plan subscription box includes live plants and everything else you need to complete a monthly project.
You can expect live plants, cool containers, growing media and unique accents. The right components properly portioned and the right techniques visually illustrated make it easy for you to experience growing success. My Garden Box also provides a seasonal gardening experience no matter if it’s winter, spring, summer or fall.
This was the most appealing plant subscription box to me. That’s because very few are providing full sized plants along with an easy and fun DIY project to go along with it. I like the combination of receiving plants but also opening my mind to new and creative ideas for displaying my plants. I must say the box did not disappoint.
I purchased this box and received the November, 2020 project. I received a really healthy and nice sized Norfolk Island Pine along with a wicker hanging basket and plant tag. It came with really clear instructions and also some background information about the plant I received.
Overall, I thought My Garden Box was a really high quality plant subscription box. It was delivered in beautiful, eco-friendly packaging. I would definitely recommend purchasing this one as a gift.
Here’s a few pros/cons to consider since I do have personal experience with this one:
My Garden Box Pros
- Has a one month option so you can test it out. Or, simply send one box to a friend as a gift (love this idea!).
- The packaging is beautiful and eco-friendly. It would make a really great gift and I enjoyed the experience of opening it and reading through everything.
- Absolutely everything was included — from the plants and instructions all the way down to the sand, soil and the mulch used to plant the plant. There is no need to purchase anything extra to complete the project.
- It’s a great way to explore new plants as well as new ways to display your plants.
- The projects are really simple! It was like an instant dopamine hit because I was able to complete the whole planting project in less than 30 minutes and have a really beautiful result that I could be proud of. I think this would give a lot of joy and satisfaction to any garden lover.
My Garden Box Cons
- Norfolk Island Pine plant is toxic to both dogs and cats. While every month you receive a different plant, I would be sure to research the plant thoroughly before displaying it. No information was provided by My Garden Box to warn me that it is toxic.
- Depending on your own personal style, some of the projects may not fit your decor. For particular month, the wicker basket really fit my rustic style decor. But I believe that I got lucky. If you have a modern style I doubt this would really fit into your home. And, if there’s a more modern box, I doubt that style would fit into my decor. So, keep in mind.
- My one critique of this particular box was that the hanging basket chain was very short. If I were to hang this, it would be about 12″ from my ceiling. For now I just have it placed on a table top. I really don’t see how I would use the hanging chain without purchasing extension chain for it.
- This is a bit pricy compared to some of the other box. I think the quality of this box makes it worth it, but it would certainly be a splurge for me to continue my subscription.

The Plant Club selects each plant based on a host of criteria including coloration, character, foliage, form, seasonality and diversity. The box will feature mostly houseplants, although sometimes they “grow” around the rules. Here’s what one subscriber is saying:
“Finally! Someone took the time to put everything together. When you get a plant at your standard store, you still need to buy the pot, still need to buy the soil, and then still need to do your research on the plant care. This box has the pot, soil, a fact sheet, a name tag, decorative topper and cute bonuses like the plant magnet, plant club pin, and piece of candy! It was all put together so perfect. …Packaging was great. Price is great for everything you get! Highly recommend!”

I think my favorite thing about this box is that they offer a pet-friendly monthly houseplant box. Being a gardener and an animal lover can be difficult as a lot of plants (especially indoor plants) are toxic to dogs and cats. This option really would put my mind at ease. It’s also a great option if you’re looking to buy a gift for your plant and pet loving friend.
What’s fun about this gardening subscription box is that each box has a unique theme! They offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee and have 24/7 customer service from their own team of plant experts. If you are unsure about subscription boxes and if they’re right for you, House Plant Box may be a great fit for you. This box has a low monthly price point and the House Plant Box team certainly seems dedicated to making your experience positive.
I’m so happy with this box! Ordered as a surprise for my mom and she got a fern yesterday and loved it! Even with it wrapped in plastic plus the 90+ temps we’ve had this week, it arrived in good condition. This subscription is a keeper. ❤️😁

Our Grandmother has just entered a home providing assisted living and she is quite upset about leaving her home of 45 years. All of the Grandchildren decided to get together and send her flowers each month. WOW, those bouquets you have sent look like a million dollars, and they last so long! Grams says that many of her new housemates seem to be a bit jealous of how much she is loved and thought of. I guess this is going to become an ongoing gift for Grams!
